THM – IQF Freezing Tunnels
THM – IQF – HELICAL FREEZING TUNNELS
Two retention times in a single equipment
Helical tunnel for freezing or cooling is designed to meet the specific characteristics of each product. Ideal for freezing or cooling: chicken cuts, fish, bread, hamburgers, processed foods, ready meals, pizza, fruits and vegetables.
The THM WITH DIRECT BELT DRIVE is an IQF – “Individuall Quick Frozen” – type freezing tunnel that uses the most advanced and latest direct drive technology for the belt.
In conventional spiral tunnels (“Spiral Freezers”), the belt is pulled by friction on a drum that rotates on its internal radius and the belt tension is controlled by a second drive (“take-up”).
The belt speed and the drum speed must be maintained in such a ratio (“overdrive” or slip) that the belt does not become too tight or too loose. Unfortunately, this ratio is not precise and varies depending on the friction between the belt and the drum and between the belt and the belt supports.
Wear on the supports, product fragments that are deposited on the conveyor belt during production, changes in the weight and quantity of the product to be frozen, and other factors, alter the friction coefficient and require constant attention from the operator when adjusting the “overdrive”.
